How the pricing works
Core — solid fill. Goes out on the zone’s scheduled run day.
Extended — dashed. Same run, longer leg, higher fee.
The fee is set at what the stop costs you — roughly $13 backyard, $18 nearby, $21–23 far, $35 extended — so it’s a nudge toward the threshold, not a profit center. The free line is set where the margin can absorb it: delivery should eat no more than about a quarter of the gross margin on the order.
The rings are ordered by drive time, not odometer. Those are different things in LA: the Westside is 2 miles closer than the East Valley and takes twenty minutes longer, because of the pass.
Free delivery applies on the zone’s run day. That’s what keeps stops batched and the per-stop cost down. Off-day or same-day is a $25 rush fee, no free tier — and in the last week before Sukkos, that fee is where the year’s margin comes back.
